Family night Temple lights

Monday for Family home evening we decided to head to the Temple to help with the lights. Brother and Sister Farr and Brother and Sister Burch from our ward are in charge of the lights and gave us instruction.
We were working on two areas that are mirror images of each other but had already been done by a group who hadn't really followed direction.. oops.
There was a lot of untangling and re distributing of lights in a nice even manner.  A great ab work out really.
This is the side Sienna, Rigdon, and I worked on. Andrew came over once he was done with the other side. HE had bigger helpers than me.
 Gunner
 Andrew
 Ashlynn
Mason was helping Brother Farr with these trees. He was tickled to be on the ladder. I'll bet Bro. Farr was tickled not to be on the ladder.

Ashlynn on the side they did.

The Christensen family was also there that night. They are in our ward too!
It will be so fun to go see the lights and admire our hard work.

Our little band of trick or treaters

Halloween came and our group of children were barely interested in dinner before heading out the door for candy collection. It's one of the most exciting day of the year for them!!!

Then getting them together to get a picture.... It was a task but we got it done.

Ashlynn being too old to trick or treat had some friends over to watch a movie.
They watched The Village, which is about as scary as we get around here.

I think they all had a great time. Candy was collected, much of it was consumed, I got some exercise walking the littles around while Andrew passed out candy, and all was right in the world.

I threw out all the candy the following Wednesday due to bad attitudes and excessive  candy wrappers on the floor.

Not just hunger pains

Fast Sunday October 13th... It's usually a pretty grumpy day for Gunner, so when he said his stomach was hurting I didn't put much stock in it.

I said he could stay home but I was hiding the remote and he was to lay in bed and read while we were at church.

The next morning he was still saying he was having pain in his stomach, So Andrew poked his belly a little bit, gave him a blessing, then asked him if he felt ok to go to school.

Gunner said he thought he could and they left for school.

Shortly after Andrew returned home with Gunner. He said every bump was hurting as they drove and maybe I should take him to the Dr.

I called and told him the symptoms and they got us in at 9:40 that morning.

The Dr. poked his stomach, pulled on him right leg and knocked on the bottom of him right foot then turned to me and said, well he has appendicitis and he was calling the hospital to get us in.

We left and headed for Cardon Children's hospital where we still had to wait in the E.R. to be seen.

What was the call ahead for?

After an Ultrasound of his belly they confirmed appendicitis and we were admitted and headed for surgery.

Grandpa White came down to give him a blessing before they took him back. He also hung around and waited a while with us.
All done! Not quite ready to wake up yet.
After a while he was a wake and moved to a room for the next few days.

Lucky me there was an Oreganos across the street! Yum. Kind of helped with my sleeping accommodations. a not so comfy couch.
 liquid diet for a bit
We had to make the rounds to get things working again. You know you have to start passing gas;)
 Hope that gown stays tied!
Gunner had visitors from his young mens leaders, Bro. Weight, Bro. Mecham, Bro.Merrill , our home teachers, Brother and Sister Ashcroft, Grandma and Grandpa White, Grandma Gillespie, and aunt Angela who all know the way to his heart!
 Not too bad lookin!
Wednesday we went down to craft. Something to break up the day. It really is a nice hospital for kids!

Thursday he finally got to come home!
He healed up right quick!

Rain delay

After the temple we had planned to go to Cornbelly's. We actually got there, bought tickets, and were just getting in when it started raining. Black clouds had moved in and the wind was whipping.

Fortunately they gave us a rain check. So we headed for dinner and back to Adam's. Cristal, Jordan and  Elsie met up with us there and watched Inspired Guns with us. It's not quite finished, no music and some effects but it was all edited together. We enjoyed it.

The next day it rained ALL Day.

We ended up hanging out at the house then taking the kids bowling. That night the grown ups went out to dinner.

Friday, finally the sun came out and we headed to have some more fun.

Mason, Boston, Rigdon, Gunner, and Miles.
Chloe, Teylor, Ashlynn, Sienna, and Paisey

There were so many things to climb on.

 A little show.
Pedal carts to drive.
 Slides to fly down.

A mouse trap... there are 5 levels in here! I was panicked just watching the kids squeeze through!
 They made it.

 Duck races!

 Haunted houses.

I pass on this. I don't like to be scared like this.

Sienna and Chloe
 Boston, Miles, and Mason
 Ashlynn and Dawn
 Sienna and Dawn

 We are farmers!
 And a cowboy!

 A pumpkin!
 And Rule Breakers!

We had so much fun, and afterward we were all packed up and ready to drive home.

But first a little pit stop at Cristal's to pick up some hair bows and such.
Some last hugs from the cutest baby!
And home again home again jiggity jig
